Repurposing 45s to cue up songs: Whenever I go to flea markets I'm always amazed by the number of basically unplayable 45s. This concept is a take on one of my other projects, the RFID radio. What we have here are stickers with an RFID antenna, re-usable stickers, that you can put on the center of a 45. These stickers can be programmed by you to have whatever songs you want cued up when the sticker is read. There is also a "record player" that is part of this system. The top is covered with felt and there's some physical interaction in that you have to place the reader on the right spot before the songs play. You also have to turn it on with a real switch. Visit my blog for some high-res images. ![]() Above: some of the RFID stickers on the 45s. ![]() Place the RFID enabled 45 on the player... ![]() Put the sensor into place... ![]() Turn on the power... ![]() Enjoy your playlists and some physical interaction! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
